What is this LiveWorthy thing all about?

It kind of feels like I kicked off the world’s longest drumroll back in November when I launched my Facebook account. Though I pulled the trigger a little prematurely, I truly appreciate everyone who clicked to follow my account—I just hate that I kept you all waiting for so long!

I was so eager to tell you all about LiveWorthy! But, as I’m sure you’ve experienced, sometimes things take a little longer to hatch than we would prefer.

Let me start from the beginning and tell you what all this rambling is about…

But first, for those of you whom I’ve not yet had the pleasure of connecting with, I’m Christie! I’m so glad you’ve found your way here! I’ll take just a quick moment to introduce myself, share a bit about my journey, and then I’ll explain what LiveWorthy is.

As I said, my name is Christie. I am a pastoral counselor and coach, and I am deeply passionate about inner healing and guiding others to overcome obstacles, step into their true purpose, and live a fulfilling life. It was in 2010 that I first met my friend and mentor, who taught and trained me in pastoral counseling. Though our paths diverged for a time, the impact and joy of that season never left me.

In 2023, as I watched our newlywed daughter drive away with her husband, I was hit with the reality of  just what a big shift in life this was. I was so focused on what a big day it was for them, I didn’t see coming the effect it would have on me. The space left in my heart from her stepping into her new life drew my attention to an emptiness that had been buried there for quite a while.

There I stood on the brink of a new chapter, and all I could think was, “Just what is it that I was created to do?”.

This journey of inward reflection led me back to my heart for counseling and my love for coaching people into whole and fulfilling lives. And as it often seems to happen, my mentor and friend from before just so happened to be on vacation here at the beach around that time. We were able to reconnect, and with her guidance, I continued my licensing and expanded upon it to step back into serving others in this capacity, once again. But, as quick and instant as that sounds, it was anything but! What she said to me during our first official meeting was just the precursor to stepping into much more than just launching a new business.

She warned me that first day that I would be experiencing everything I was learning firsthand, for myself, and only secondly would I use the tools to help others. With my previous experience, I took this statement lightly. Boy, was that naive (or maybe it was prideful) of me! In the process of learning how to guide people to uprooting unhealthy mindsets, I found myself confronted with my own limiting beliefs. One by one, I began to uncover and experience the uprooting of these old patterns, allowing for growth and healing in my thinking, in my relationships, and in my capacity for life. Just as old wineskins grow dry and brittle and burst when filled with new wine, life experiences, trauma, and limiting beliefs can disrupt the flow of life and love. My business was growing and so was I, but just just when I thought my personal transformation was complete, another dry and useless layer and  would reveal itself, leading me deeper into my journey of healing and growth.

It was just before one such moment of revelation that I prematurely launched my Facebook page for LiveWorthy. I was so excited to share with you all just what I had been up to, but the timing wasn’t quite right. Though I was actively meeting with clients and growing, the full dream of LiveWorthy was not yet ready to be brought forth. As I was still awakening to the reality of what it means to be worthy to live our dreams, I realized… I wasn’t quite finished dreaming.

I began to see more clearly, that “what it was I was created for” wasn’t about something to do, but rather someone I am. We all have been created to love, and to be loved. It’s WHO we truly are. The things we do are just opportunities and expressions of that love. And, as it turns out, there’s more than just one way we can do that-therefore, I wasn’t content with the one facet of LiveWorthy…

From that place of inspiration, LiveWorthy has bloomed into The LiveWorthy Collective. Not only is it a place to cultivate the beauty of your inner world, but it also celebrates the outer expression of love and life through art and creativity. The LiveWorthy Collective is a hub for the counseling and coaching where you can set an appointment for help in seeing yourself as the person of beauty and purpose that you are. You will also find here, The LiveWorthy Art Gallery & Gift Shop, a growing space where you can explore art and curated gifts. The LiveWorthy Art Gallery & Gift Shop is off is off to a small start with big plans for more. The Collective, also offers a blog where you can gain insight into this journey, as well as anticipation for the expansion of coaching into the world of wellness.
